What’s the minimum age I have to be to enroll in a Driver Education Class?

You must be 15 years old by the first day of class.

If I am 18 or older can I still enroll in drivers ed?

Yes! In fact, it is common for our classes to have students who are 18 or older. However, we also offer private driving lessons for those adults who do not wish to enroll in a formal driver’s education program. These lessons are charged on an hourly rate.

When can I get my permit?

If you’re enrolled in a driver’s education class, you can get an instruction permit when you’re at least 15 years old and you apply for the permit 10 days or less before the class starts with an electronic waiver from your driving school. The waiver allows you to apply for your permit without taking the knowledge test first.

Do I need a permit by the first class?

No, but you are required to have the permit no later than seven (7) days after the class begins.

How do I get my permit?

You’ll need a WDL number. Pre-apply for a WDL number and email it to wendrivingschool@gmail.com so we can report your enrollment in driver’s education to qualify you for your permit. Click THIS LINK for step-by-step instructions.

How do I register?
Can I miss any classes?

We understand that occasionally a student must miss a class, however, classes are required to be made up and no more than three (3) classes can be made up. We have limited options available to make up a missed class. Please contact the office to schedule make-ups as soon as you’ve missed a class. Don’t delay in making arrangements. No refund will be given to students dropped as a result of being absent for more than three (3) classroom sessions or for failing to complete their makeup sessions. We must adhere strictly to our attendance policy and it is the responsibility of the student to attend and participate and to contact the office to arrange to make up any missed classes.

Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes, the cost of tuition may be broken down into 2 payments with the balance due before/on the last day of class (Class #15).

What payment methods do you accept?

Visa, MasterCard, Check, Money Order, or Cash.

What if I need extra help behind the wheel?

We have course packages that include extra hours of behind-the-wheel practice with an instructor or you can add them to your package later. We have private in-car training available to fill most needs; just contact the office for more information.

What does teen driver’s education at Wenatchee Driving School entail?

Our courses consist of (15) 2-hour classroom sessions, (6) 1-hour behind-the-wheel drives, and (1) 1-hour drive observation. Classroom instruction consists of a variety of interactive PowerPoint presentations, group discussions, videos, and quizzes. Each class will have a 5-10 minute break and a wide variety of snacks are available to the students (all for $1).

What if my student needs to miss one or more classes?

Students may miss no more than 3 classes during a course, and all missed classes must be made up before the course final is administered. If a student misses more than 3 classes they will be required to repeat the course.

How can students make up missed classes?

‘If your student misses a class, they will need to attend the same class on a different day and time. Talk with your instructor or our office staff to find a time for them to make up the class. There is class makeup fee for the instructors time to cover that days lesson.
